Kansas City is a Violent City …

“Kansas City is a violent city and we just need to embrace that. I mean, we have a shooting like every day in Kansas City.”

The quote above is by Mará Rose Williams, a senior opinion columnist and longtime journalist for The Kansas City Star. In her nearly three-decade tenure at the publication, she has served as an education reporter, assistant managing editor for race and equity, and an editorial board member. Moreover, she was recently inducted into the Missouri Press Association Hall Of Fame.  Those who are familiar with the Kansas City Star publication know that this is a highly liberal organization, very supportive of the democratic agenda, and was kind to those behind the violence during the BLM riots across the State of Missouri, so a comment like this coming from the Kansas City Star doesn’t really surprise me.

So, my response?

According to FBI databases, Kansas City ranks at number 10 for the most dangerous cities in the United States based on homocides and gun violence. Chicago and New York City, which have a nigher number of incidents are not on the top 10 list simply because of their massive populations and the rankings based on incidents per 100,000 people. According to the Kanas City Missouri Police Department, year to date (1-1=2026 to 6-28-2026), there have been 69 Homicides recorded. Of the 69 Homocides in Kansas City, 63 of those homocides took place in the predominantly Black neighborhoods of Kansas City Missouri, south of the Missouri River. 41 of the victims were Black Males, 6 were Black Female, 15 white males, 4 white females. Surprising to some pepole only 2 Hispanic males, and 1 Hispanic female have been murdered so far in 2026. As for the suspects … 39 were Black Males, 3 were Black Females. 10 were White males and 2 were White Females. 5 hispanic Males, 1 Hispanic female. The incidents were 56% Black Male suspects or shooters, and were predominantly inside of District 5 of Kansas City Missouri.

We know where the problem lies. What areas, what community, what culture. Now there are those who are going to say that this holds a racial bias, but facts are facts. Of the reported Teen Takeovers in the Kansas City area, they were all predominantly Black youth. Looking at the evidence that there has been on videos, the Black Females seem to be the more aggressive, less tolerant, than the others involved. 59 percent of homocide victims in Kansas City proper are Black Males. So, maybe it’s time to stop ‘talking’ about ending the violence and taking proactive measures to retrain the mindset of our youth, of all races, and put a stop to the lawlessness and killings. There need to be consequences for actions. Criminals need to be concerned, even afraid of the consequences for their illegal actions. Tomorrow’s youth needs to believe that there is something worth working for instead of this state of hopelessness that is likely driving the problems in our Urban core.

Gun Control?

Attention Liberals and Democrats! Taking guns away from law abiding citizens is not the solution to gun violence. Look at the crimes in Chicago, in New York City, in other areas were strict gun control laws exist. Chicago and other violence cities do not make hte list of ‘most dangerous cities’ simply because of their massive populations. Crime statistics are based on number of incidents per 100,000 people. So, rankings can seem to be a bit out of balance. The fact is that despite the strict gun control regulations of places like California the crime rates are still very high. Gun control is not the solution.

Carrying Concealed States have shown a lowering of violent crime rates, but it is not the solution either. And with the current mindset of the ‘racist’ Black Community being that any black person who commits a crime is being cheated by the system, and any shooting of a black person is not self-defense or justified, it’s murder; a person would be in greater danger because they would be caused to hesitate and reconsider the aftermath of defending their life or hte lives of others.

I carry concealed, most of the time. I also carry a large insurance policy that provides me with liability insurance against Civil suits, lawyers and fees, and other cost associated with my having defended myself or someone else. Unfortunately, the criminals have the upper hand in this country and its going to be that way until the people stand up and force our leaders to take a proper stand for the law abiding members of their community.

In conclusion:

Antifa – Terrorist Organization
Black Lives Matter – Racist Organization
Black Panthers – Racist Organization

Three well-known organizations of which the Liberal Democrats protect. Of which are allowed to spread their Hate-Speech freely while I will likely be chastized for pointing out the above facts and naming the three above organizations for how I see them. Racism is not one sided. I have worked hard not to be a racist person, but I have to admit, that in the face of the racism against me, I am starting to fall into the trap myself. This is despite my common statement that “I am not a Racist, I hate everyone.”

Embrace the Violence? That is how we got into the mess we are in. Stand up to Violence. Fix your community. Make it a detriment to be involved in Criminal activities. Maybe members of the Urban Core, where the rate of violence is the highest, where many of the lawless youth come from, should face the suspension of loss of certain benefits, such as Welfare, such as SNAP and Food Stamps if an adult or youth member of the reciving family is found to be involved in criminal activities and violence. Ease the restrictions on who can and cannot be charged as an adult for violenc crimes involving a firearm. More stringent fines and penalties for youth crimes such as Teen Takeovers and the violence that often accompanies such an event. No consequences, no fear, no reason not to be a criminal. And finally, if you’re going to have laws regarding Hate Speech and Racist Speech, then enforce the law regardless of race and entirely on content. Crying out “the only good cracker is a dead cracker” is just as much hate speech and racism as calling out that “the only good N***** is a dead N*****.” No more double standards if you want the problem of racism to eventually go away.

Embrace? No. We need to cast aside those who work to keep us divided as a community and nation and teach our youth that the future is not violence or lawlessness, but working together for the good of ALL. All Lives Matter.
