Fredrick Scott trial day 6: Guns purchased from Kansas City pawn shop, evidence shows
She was able to provide documentation that showed Scott purchased four firearms from Smart Pawn in Kansas City.
Records showed that Scott purchased a 9mm pistol on Aug. 15, 2016. He purchased another 9mm pistol on Feb. 21, 2017. According to the pawn shop’s records, he purchased a third 9mm pistol on March 28, 2017, and a fourth 9mm pistol on June 20, 2017.
When Scott’s home was searched on Aug. 17, 2017, investigators were able to find three receipts in the drawer of a desk in the laundry room.
All three receipts were from Smart Pawn, indicating that purchases were made on Feb. 21, 2017, March 10, 2017, and March 28, 2017.

Let me ask one simple question … “Why does it matter where he purchased the handguns that he may or may not have used in his Serial Killer Spree (allegedly)?”
Before all the liberals out there start on their rants. Before they start saying that ‘if he hadn not been able to purchase the handguns, these people may still be alive.’ Before they start showing their ignorance by thinking or even promoting the idea that purchasing handguns from a Pawn Shop could be easier than from a Gun Dealer … Pawn Shops that sell handguns are Licensed Dealers and must follow the same rules as any other gun dealer when selling a handgun. Before we blame the dealer, or the gun, let’s face the uncomfortable act that Guns Don’t Kill People … People Kill People.”
There is nothing in the article, in the evidence that the guns were illegally purchased. To the contrary. We have to recognize that Fredrick Scott was legally eligible to purchase and possess a handgun. I have seen nothing in the articles that stated he was not legally eligible to purchase or possess a handgun. That this proven by the fact that he was able to make multiple purchases through a licensed gun dealer (Pawn Shop). The problem comes down to the use of the handguns he purchased … that is where the entire problem lies … the criminal action of the person, allegedly Fredrick Scott.
But we have reached a point in our society that we tend to blame the tool rather than the person wielding the tool. Is it the hammer’s fault if you miss the nail and hit your thumb? No, it’s a tool. Is it the car’s fault if a person gets inside of it, intoxicated, and causes an accident? No, it’s just a tool. The fault lies with how the tool is used, in this case … a handgun.
Yes, there are records that he purchased handguns. But where he purchased them is not important. The criminal use of said handguns is what we need to focus on … the criminal use by an alleged criminal, not a law abiding citizen.
