Missouri Governor Mike Kehoe signed Senate Bill 1408 into law, raising the maximum speed limit on eligible rural, four-lane highways and interstates (I-35, I-44, I-55, and I-70) from 70 to 75 mph. The law takes effect on August 28, 2026. Provisions to eliminate vehicle safety inspections were stripped from the final bill to secure approval, meaning current state inspection rules remain in place.

The voters have spoken. Missouri Constitutional Amendments 4 and 5 were not just reujected, but soundly rejected. Accounting to sources on the Internet, Amendment 4 was rejected by 80.3% (vs 19.7%); Amendment 5 by 83.3% (vs. 16.7%).

Over the past several years, Missouri voters have amended the state constitution to create abortion rights, legalize marijuana and sports betting and expand Medicaid healthcare coverage for low-income adults.

None of those initiatives would have passed under a ballot measure getting decided by voters Tuesday.

The following is the taken directly from the Ballot that I will be handed when I go to vote. I have reformated the text, removed the Yes/No voter blocks, and I have removed the Primary ballot information. This is only the Constitutional Amendment information from the Ballot.

Amendment 3 addresses two subjects that are high on the list of importance to liberals, liberal Democrats, and even the Socialist. Abortion and Gender Transition. When it comes to either topic, there seems to be no middle ground. You are either for or against. There is no given room for compromise and apparently no room for Common Sense. So here we go. What is Amendment 3 (2026)?

As it stands right now, the citizens of Missouri get to vote whether or not new State Taxes are implimented. According to discussions I’ve read, this will no longer be the case if Amendement 5 is approved. Then again, there is a lot of talk about there that this will allow the Missouri legistlature to put taxes on services that are currently not taxed, like doctor’s visits.

The SAVE Act (Safeguard American Voter Eligibility Act) is a proposed federal bill that would require Americans to provide documentary proof of U.S. citizenship to register to vote in federal elections.

Thre are two Amendments getting ready to show up on the ballot on August 4th here in Missouri. Amendment 4, which is being held up as the elimination of Majority Rule in Missouri, replacing it with All Amendments to the State Constitution be subject to Majority rule in each District.
