Kansas City’s local street preacher Michael Wheeler, widely known as “KC Superman,” stated he was banned for life from the Westport entertainment district following a series of repeated trespassing citations and arrests related to his public preaching.
Now, it looks like he’s getting the same treatment at Arrowhead much to the chagrin of some bystanders.
Special thanks to BEST & BRIGHTEST TKC READERS for sending this note . . .
“This is how the Chiefs treat one of their biggest fans.”
Thank you Tony’s KC
“What the Hell? ” … right? It’s Freedom of Speech. He has the right to stand anywhere he wants and preach his beliefs … right? NO, not really. The Second Amendment protects our freedom of speech from the Government taking action, not a private entity. It wasn’t the City of Kansas City, or the County of Jackson, or the State of Missouri that banned him from Westport, it is the operators of the Westport District, a private, commerical entity that banned, trespassed this local icon. It was not a government entity that had him removed, trespassed at Arrowhead Stadium for the first pre-season game of 2026, it would have been the Kansas City Chiefs, a private, commercial entity. Frankly, they can do whatever they want, you have no Freedom of Speech protection from them. And the courts made that abundantly clear in regards to his actions in Westport where he is currently on probation for trespassing charges.
So, what’s the problem?
Frankly, most people don’t want to hear it. Many are content to ignore the street preachers. Some of us can find them quite amusing, and after a time you learn that debating them is fruitless, so you leave them be. But there are those who simply don’t want to hear it and they consider it an intrusion on their lives to have someone pushing Christianity on them while they are out trying to enjoy an evening out, or waiting in line to get into a game.
There is a time and a place … Westport on a weekend evening, or before a Chief’s game at the entrances, are not the right place, or the right time.
Now, this isn’t the owners being mean, they are responding to complaints. They likely couldn’t care less if they are out there annoying the public so long as they are not hearing complaints. Regardless, KC Superman is now facing a probation violation for his continued activities in Westport and now Arrowhead.
